The Oxford Original Approved AA Demiwax Leggings are definitely a stylish pair of riding leggings – with a split look, the front half is a wet wax leather look and the other half a plain black, it is an interesting bold look that looks great with any motorcycle.
This pair of leggings do not sacrifice safety at the detriment of looks. This is a statement pair of leggings that allows you to combine aesthetics and rider safety.
With a CE rating of AA, the trousers come with CE Level 2 Dynamic knee and hip protectors. There are reinforced impact abrasion zones and an internal overlock stitching further reinforces all main seams to improve the structure strength of the jeggings. The fabric is a monolayer wax of Armourlite across the front and then stretch monolayer Armourlite for the rear fabric. Considering there is a balance of look and protection with these leggings, I would say that the provided armour is quite rigid and the wax look on the front really show the outline. Protection always comes first and foremost but this definitely had a negative impact on the overall look of the leggings so I would highly recommend picking up more slimline armour if this is important to you.
The fit of these leggings are great. They are a slim fit and with the stretch, getting the correct size, means you end up with well fitted very flattering leggings. High waisted, they are comfortable, very breathable and easy to wear. They come with three leg lengths to purchase from, giving options for the different heights of riders. There are no front pockets, only two rear pockets, which is always a bit of a disappointment. Everyone should know we women love it when front pockets are provided as unfortunately it is not a common feature of any jeans.
The material is very breathable, with a wicking outer fabric – when I first picked up these leggings, we were heading straight into winter and temperatures dropping. I immediately found I needed to layer up under these and they were not suitable for cold riding. These are definitely more of a spring and summer legging, the breathability lending itself perfectly to warm and hot riding conditions. There are also belt loops as well which allow for the addition of Oxford’s Belt Connector if that is something someone wants to purchase separately to the leggings.
Overall, these are a great looking pair of leggings that offer sublime comfort and flattering to the rider’s body. Sometimes biker gear can feel bulky and heavy and not very feminine. These look great and give someone the opportunity to combine aesthetics with rider safety. If you mix up the armour for more slimline profile and ensure to wear these in warmer conditions, these are a great pair of jeggings.
