BSA Motorcycles has unveiled two new special editions of its iconic BSA Gold Star 650, Birmingham Blue, and Brooklands Black. Inspired by the success of the award-winning BSA Gold Star 650, named MCN’s ‘Best Retro Bike,’ the new editions bring fresh character to BSA’s iconic retro-roadster.
Created to celebrate key milestones in BSA’s journey, the two special editions bring exclusive finishes, premium detailing and a distinctive character to the motorcycle that has become the cornerstone of the brand’s revival.
Modern Classic Motorcycle News - Kindle Edition
The Birmingham Blue edition pays tribute to Birmingham, the city where BSA’s story began. Finished in a rich deep blue paint scheme, it features an exclusive patinated silver side-panel badge and a bespoke engine finish that reinforce its timeless appeal, while offering a contemporary expression of the authentic original Gold Star DNA and retaining the motorcycle’s character.
The Brooklands Black edition draws inspiration from BSA’s celebrated performance heritage. Finished in deep black with elegant gold pinstriping across its partially chrome fuel tank, it is further distinguished by a quilted seat and premium detailing that enhance its presence.
At the heart of both motorcycles is the acclaimed BSA Gold Star 650 platform. Powered by BSA’s 652cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, the bike delivers 55Nm of torque, combining effortless performance with the unique character that only a big single can offer. Premium components including Brembo brakes, dual-channel ABS, Pirelli tyres, and wire-spoke wheels continue to underpin the motorcycle’s retro-roadster credentials.
The BSA Gold Star 650 has established itself as a defining model in BSA’s modern era, blending authentic British design with contemporary engineering and an engaging riding experience. The addition of Birmingham Blue and Brooklands Black gives riders two new ways to experience that character while staying true to the DNA that has made the original BSA Gold Star one of motorcycling’s most enduring names.
