It was another unforgettable weekend at The Classic Motorcycle Mechanics Show sponsored by Carole Nash and what a show it was!
This year, we were joined by motorcycling legends Wayne Gardner, who celebrated his birthday with us over the weekend, and fellow legend Roger Marshall, both sharing their incredible stories to the delight of packed crowds.
The showground buzzed with energy from start to finish, with thousands of enthusiasts exploring halls filled with dazzling machines ranging from a 1994 Seeley Matchless G50 to a 1938 CZ 25B, among other rare finds. As always, the passion and creativity from our motorcycle clubs were second to none, making judging no easy task.
The Kettle Club claimed Best Club Stand for 2025 with a display full of creativity and flair, taking over from the 2024 winners, the International Laverda Owners Club. Meanwhile, the coveted Best Trade Stand award went to Roadskin, a UK label specialising in protective outerwear for motorcyclists. Known for modern biker clothing that can be worn all day, Roadskin offered premium jeans, T-shirts, hoodies and more, combining style, comfort and safety.
The ultimate accolade, Best in Show, went to Paul Cann for his stunning 1967 Kawasaki A7 Avenger, a beautifully restored machine that stopped visitors in their tracks and perfectly embodied the spirit of the event.
Over in the Bonhams Auction, The Joey Dunlop OBE MBE 1988 Isle of Man TT Formula 1 and Senior TT-winning Honda VFR750R RC30 sold for £132,250, with its partner, The Joey Dunlop OBE MBE 1999 Ulster Grand Prix-winning Honda RVF750 RC45, selling for £92,000. A total of 270 lots of exceptional machines joined the sale, with an impressive 98% sold by lot.
As always, Stafford was the place to be for everything classic motorcycling, where world champions meet world firsts and memories are made that last a lifetime.
Event Planner Nick Mowbray said: “What a fantastic weekend. The atmosphere was as electric as ever and it was incredible to share the event with two true legends of motorcycling, Wayne Gardner and Roger Marshall. Celebrating Wayne’s birthday with him and seeing his new eBike brand, Gardner 87, join the show made it even more special.”
