Moto Morini Appoints Moto73 For Uk Market DistributionThe Moto Morini brand and its diverse range of motorcycles will be exclusively distributed in the UK through Moto73 from January 1, 2026.

Since 2018, Moto Morini has been owned by the Chinese manufacturing giant, Zhongneng Vehicle Group (ZNEN). The brand maintains its headquarters and design center near Milan, Italy, to preserve the “Italian soul” and styling of the bikes with manufacturing taking place in China to keep costs low. The resulting resurgence of Morini through its new ownership has produced bikes that not only look exotic and feature high-end name-brand parts (Brembo, Kayaba, Pirelli), but deliver outstanding ride quality and a vast array of features for significantly less money than Japanese or European competitors.

Moto73, based close to Manchester and who are also responsible for introducing the QJMOTOR range to UK dealers, will offer Four Moto Morini models initially in 2026 and are looking to work with the existing dealer network as well as create new partnerships.

Matt Kay from Moto73, said: “Moto Morini is enjoying a major renaissance under the stewardship of the Zhongneng Vehicle Group and is effectively executing a “Designed in Italy, Built in China” strategy to offer quality motorcycles to market with a unique flair. The existing Moto Morini UK dealer network is a passionate and knowledgeable one, and Moto73 looks forward to speaking with them as well as looking to create new opportunities for riders to access this iconic brand and its exciting product range.”

Moto Morini was established in Bologna in 1937 by Alfonso Morini, initially building three-wheelers. After his factory was destroyed during World War II, he pivoted to motorcycles in 1946 with a 125cc two-stroke model inspired by the DKW RT. The brand quickly established a reputation for racing excellence, achieving its first Grand Prix victory at Monza in 1949. The 1950s saw the launch of the iconic 175 Settebello, a high-performance machine that became a legend in long-distance racing. In the 1960s, the brand expanded to the US market and saw further racing glory with rider Angelo Bergamonti, who helped secure the 1967 Italian Road Race (RR) championship in the 250cc class.

A major technical milestone occurred in the 1970s with the debut of the 3 ½, a 350cc V-twin featuring electronic ignition and a six-speed gearbox, followed by 500cc variants. After a period of dormancy, the brand was relaunched in 2005 with the powerful Corsaro 1200 and its 87° V-twin engine. In 2011, the company moved to Trivolzio under new Italian ownership before being acquired by the Zhongneng Vehicle Group in 2018. This latest chapter has focused on expanding the product line, resulting in the successful launch of the X-CAPE 650 adventure bike in 2021 and the Seiemezzo street and scrambler models.
