Set to be showcased at EICMA, the SKWAL iCUP features an active brake light system with an integrated accelerometer. It joins the SKWAL i3 and SKWAL i3 JET in the range.
SHARK is expanding its LED helmet range with the SKWAL iCUP full-face helmet, which combines racing-inspired design with active visibility technology. Inspired by Formula 1, it stands out with a vertical LED signature built into the rear spoiler and a smart brake light that activates automatically under deceleration.
Already in stores, the SKWAL iCUP will also be showcased at EICMA in Milan in November. It uses the same LED technology as the SKWAL i3 and SKWAL i3 JET: a self-contained system with no wiring and no connection to the motorcycle, improving rider visibility while reinforcing their visual identity.
All three models are approved to ECE 22.06 standard.
LED Innovation That Began in 2015
SHARK was a pioneer in bringing LED lighting to motorcycle helmets. Launched in 2015, the first SKWAL introduced the technology with light strips integrated into the shell, chin guard, and rear spoiler. The aim was to improve rider visibility while establishing a distinctive aesthetic signature.
In 2023, the launch of the SKWAL i3 took SHARK a step further. It introduced the active LED brake light: an integrated accelerometer detects deceleration and automatically activates the rear brake light, requiring no wiring or Bluetooth connection to the motorcycle.
This development turns LED technology into an active safety and visibility system.
SKWAL iCUP: A Light Signature Inspired by Motorsport
Inspired by racing and Formula 1, the SKWAL iCUP pairs the sporty design of the SKWAL CUP with SHARK’s LED technology.
Its vertical signature is built directly into the rear spoiler. When the system is off, the LED remains clear and discreet. Once activated, it lights up red, creating a strong visual marker at the rear of the helmet.
The brake light activates automatically under deceleration thanks to the integrated accelerometer, designed to make the rider more visible to other road users.
With the SKWAL iCUP, LED technology becomes a true signature. It does more than complement the helmet’s design: it expresses the rider’s character and their affinity with the racing world.
