In the first or our new feature Readers Rides we have Andys’ Z900RS. Here’s some info from Andy: I’ve own my Z900RS for 18 months now and its a keeper so time to add a few upgrades. I’m a huge Kawasaki fan having with a Z1B, GPZ750 and 900 in the garage already.
I was attracted by the classic lines and parked side by side the Z1B and RS share many styling cues. However, as you’d expect, they ride very differently the RS being a very modern motorcycle, it works pretty well in standard form but like a lot of modern bikes suffers a little from “jerky throttle” an ecu flash and dyno tune smooth’s things out and adds a little mid range.
The suspension is pretty good but when pushed can get a little out of shape especially over bumpy undulating British roads. I opted for Ktech Revised fork piston/valve kit along with re-spring & Razor R shock all sprung to my weight.
I’m a below knee amputee right leg and while I can use the rear brake the addition of a Thumb brake gives me a finer control. This unit is a Racetorx and retains the rear brake pedal.
All the upgrades where supplied and fitted by GSG Performance based at Knockhill Racing Circuit click here for more info
We have now added a new feature Readers Rides, where we yes you guessed it will features readers bikes. Do you have a modern classic, naked, retro bike thats non-standard (even if its just a different exhaust) just something a little different.
