New KEIS merino wool heated socks, with built-in battery pockets and dual voltage power, for warm feet on the bike and off it
Ask any year-round rider where they feel the cold first and the answer is usually their feet. Stuck on the pegs, exposed to wind chill and with limited movement and circulation inside riding boots, toes can go numb quickly, and with little chance of getting any warmth to them.
KEIS S401 Heated Socks do just that: bring warmth directly to the feet. They’re made from a 70% merino wool blend, so they’re soft and naturally warm even before the heat goes on. Merino also manages moisture well, which keeps feet comfortable for longer, making the S401s just as suited to a full day’s touring as the daily commute.
The integrated battery pockets keep the power source secure and out of the way, so there are no loose cables or awkwardly placed packs to work around when putting on riding boots or trousers.
Dual voltage control gives the wearer flexible power options, from KEIS 7.4V batteries in the built-in pockets (recommended for best results) to 12V power, so the heat output can be matched to conditions, power setup and personal comfort. Current draw is only 0.54 Amps (6.5W) at 12V, so they won’t put any strain on a bike’s charging system.
With batteries fitted, the S401s don’t need a bike at all. Walking, spectating at a winter race meeting, or simply getting through a chilly autumn or spring morning, they deliver warm feet wherever the wearer happens to be.
Plus, a new Battery Run Time Calculator on the refreshed KEIS website shows how long the heat will last. Simply choose a battery and a heat setting, and the calculator shows the heat output and an estimated run time.
KEIS S401 Heated Socks come in the following sizes:
- Small (UK 3.5–5)
- Medium (UK 6–8)
- Large (UK 9–11)
- X-Large (UK 12–13.5)
RRP is £90.00 including VAT, or £120.00 bundled with KEIS 7.4V batteries.
They join a complete KEIS line-up of heated jackets, vests, gloves and accessories, making it easy to build a full cold-weather riding setup.
